Jaylee's Sound of Music

This is how Jaylee kept us all entertained on the drive to Utah!! She LOVES Sound of Music!!!

Grandpa's Funeral

The whole reason we went to Utah was for the funeral of Grandpa Bouwhuis (Brady's Grandpa). When we got word that Grandpa had died, we knew we had to be there. And we are so glad that we were. Since Grandpa had served in the Army, it had been decided to do a military graveside service. It was a really neat experience!! They had the flag draped across his coffin, the 21-gun salute, the playing of taps along with the army theme song and the presenting of the flag. I did J-Bug's hair a new way for the funeral. It turned out cute but I know to do things a little different next time.
The servicemen who did the 21-gun salute
The Grandsons and Grandson-in-laws were the pallbearers. Brady was so upset since he decided against wearing his suit coat. He was the only one not in one. He was going to bring it with us but decided at the last moment that it would be a pain to travel with.

The man who played Taps and the Army theme song
Presenting the flag to Mike. Since Mike is the oldest, the flag was presented to him. It was really sweet!!

Once the men left, it was just the family at the graveside. Mike had taken a seat and J went over to him to give him hugs. She really can be sweet when she wants too!!
J kept teasing Nanny that she wasn't going to give her kisses
Hudson has grown up so much in the past year!! She is such a doll!!
Harper is so quiet and sweet!! Or at least she was at the funeral.

Harper and Jaylee were shoving rolls into their mouth in this picture. We were waiting to eat and they were all starving!!
Tenley takes the spotlight!!
The 3 cousins!! They are all getting so big!!

Utah trip...

Our drive to Utah was LONG but it had it's moments that were very entertaining!! We tried to stop every couple of hours so that Jaylee could run and play. We found places like Burger King with a playland or would find a grassy place for her to run. She really did well but after a while she would just cry because she needed out!! Friday was the first day we were in town and we were going to go visit some people. Jaylee looked so adorable and ready to go but then she had an accident and had to be changed and then the rest is history!! I actually left her hair down with bows holding back a little on each side and curled all of her hair. She's a trooper to let me do her hair!!

We went and saw the Unsicker family. Well Brad, Sundee and Alec at least. Brad was our Singles Ward Bishop and kind of the reason that Brady and I are together. I worked with Sundee part time while we were first married and while I was pregnant. This family will always hold a very special place in our hearts!! We love them dearly!! We played a game with Alec and Sundee-Brad had to go do some work!! It was wonderful to see them again!!
We went to see Grandma Shawn. She was J's babysitter and we just love her to death!! It was funny to see J with her. At first she was a little shy with Shawn but all of a sudden she just kept giving Grandma Shawn hugs. It was so cute!! She is such a wonderful lady and we are so glad that she was the one taking care of J while we worked!! She gave Jaylee some little princess things and they were great for the Viewing and the Funeral. It kept her quiet for a little bit!!

After the viewing, we went putt-putt golfing with Aunt Kim and Uncle Brenn. Jaylee has never gone golfing before and she enjoyed it for awhile. It was nice to see them again and just hang out!! Aunt Kim was really cold so she found a jacket in the car that is Nanny's. She sported it quit nicely!!

We were able to go play games with our friends The Day's!! They were always our gaming buddies and it was so fun to just hang out!! Their daughter Emmalyn and Jaylee played together. Cyndi made J this cute little tutu. Thanks for the Tutu Cyndi and for the yummy cookies while we played games!!

We met up with some of our old friends for Frozen Yogurt our last night in town. Reese and Cory just bought a new house and we were able to go and see it. It's so cute!!
Jaylee hiding behind her nickles from Courtney
The Ladies!! Reese, Courtney and me. We've been friends for a long time and will be forever. We miss them so much with living down here in Arizona!!
Nanny and Jaylee saying goodbye to each other.
Aunt Megan told us some wonderful news that we are having another cousin!!
Poppa gave us a tour of the new building at his work and a few other places at the DATC that have been remodeled. It was so cool and he has really worked hard on making that place a wonderful place to get an education. And the Cosmetology department looks WONDERFUL!!

This huge rocking chair is in Beaver out in the middle of no where!! I've stopped here before with a friend on a road trip but couldn't for the life of me remember where it was. Now I'll never forget and it will be a new stopping zone!!
So even though our trip to Utah was for a funeral, we were able to see some old friends and have a nice time. It was so good to see our Bouwhuis Family but we missed Aunt Brittany, Uncle Jared and the kidlets!!

We Love you Grandpa Bouwhuis!!

I know most of you have seen these pictures but I post them again as a we love you grandpa. Brady's Grandpa died this morning!! Just 4 days shy of the 2nd anniversary of when his grandma died. I find it interesting because at Grandma's funeral, Grandpa leaned over her casket to give her a kiss and told her that he would see her next year. Well I guess in a way he was right since it hasn't yet hit the 2 year mark. It was so sweet and to think of their reunion in heaven and for them to be together once again, is such a sweet feeling. Grandpa was ready to go and while we will miss him, we do know that he is probably much happier in his now current state. We Love you Grandpa Bouwhuis and we are so happy that you have been reunited with your sweetheart!!

These pictures are from June of this year when Brady and Jaylee were in Utah for a visit!!

AnimalRazzle-ZooDazzle

On Saturday, I had an A-Team event to help raise money for the Zoo. We help raise money for a lot of different kids organizations and it's fun to help out. Brian and Adam had spent the night so I still had them with me. And when J found out that there would be lots of doggies she was so excited!! She loves dogs, to bad her mom is allergic to them and she'll probably never have one!! They had all kinds of animals there though!!
J-Bug was in Heaven!! She loves dogs and birds so this event was great for her!! This is the dog that she decided has strips like a zebra. It was cute!! The lady and Gloria(one of the managers) were talking about her strips and she said "Zebra Doggie". Silly girl!!
This guy was just loud!! He was a couple booths down from us and I don't think he liked all the people around!! An Owl
Snakes are bad enough when they are little but when they weigh 130lbs and are 16 feet long-it's just plain out scary!! This big guy was also at the event to be touch and carried by 20 kids. Obviously it's a nice snake!!Brian wanted to touch the snake-He's the one with the white shirt and gray looking hair!!
I know kids a little to well sometimes. I brought the DVD player because I knew after an hour they would all be asking if it was time to go and since I had to be there for 3 hours I thought ahead. They watched Shrek 2
Brian getting to see his face once the lady was done-And yes he does have blue hair. I'm a cool Aunt what can I say!!
The finished guys-Hayden was the joker and Brian was Batman
