Davis County Fair...

Having a horse fanatic and a ;master gardener in the family means one thing, we HAVE to go to the fair!!!  Jaylee was so excited this year for it and she even got to ride a pony!!  She kept saying, "I should have worn my boots and my cowgirl hat!!"  I let Brady take Kynna over to the plant stuff while I stood in line with Jaylee.  We got a few cool prizes and had a nice day in the heat!!!  

Kynna doesn't share the same love for horses as Jaylee does!!!

The Petting Zoo-I despise these things!!  I think they are just nasty, however my little country girl begged and pleaded with us to go in there.  Brady was chosen as the lucky one to go in with her!!!  At least they had a cleaning station right next to it along with hand sanitizer!!!  I will give them props for that suggestion!!!!

Poor Sick Kynna...

Our sweet Kynna has been one sick girl lately!!  Hopefully she is on the getting better side!!!  For over a week straight, she was puking everything she ate.  She was fine to keep liquids down but that was all.  After day 5, we took her in since no one else was catching it and she hadn't been around anyone that had been sick with a flu bug.  They suggested that we have her blood taken to run some test, to make sure she wasn't dehydrated.  She wasn't but was close enough for them to be concerned about keeping a close watch on her.  We took her off of all foods for the remainder of that day and most of the next, then we started her on the BRAT diet.  Well that didn't make it better, so we had to take her back in.  They took an x-ray of her belly to see if they could see anything going on but it just suggested another condition that is actually pretty common in young children.  It's call intussusception, however we didn't know this until after another 2 doctor visits, another trip to the ER and having blood work, and finally taking her down to Primary Children's.  We spent all night and morning at Primary Children's and finally they decided that it was this condition.  They pretty much wait to see if it will fix itself since they don't like to do the procedure to correct in on young children because of the risk involved.  And since she was super white and clammy when we got down there, they are pretty sure it had passed.  The doctors and nurses down there are WONDERFUL!!  As a mother, I felt like I couldn't do anything for her, and they were all reminding us that we were doing everything right and taking good care of our baby.  They told us that if they had any question about whether she was being watched and taken care of, they would have kept her for a day or two to observe her and make sure that all was okay now.  It was just a nice reminder that we were doing everything in our power to care for our baby and that we were doing what was right for her!!

 At Primary Children's!!  She wouldn't lay down and even though she was super tired she was not about to fall asleep in a place that looked way to much like the last place that stuck her with a needle!!

She finally gave in and fell asleep in my arms just moments before she was released at 4am.  The nurses all laughed and they adored her little personality!!  I am so grateful to have a Primary Children's Hospital so close but it was so sad to see all the other kids that were so sick in there.  

Kynna is pretty much back to her normal eating patterns now.  She does throw-up every now and then but nothing like she was.  And I am grateful that she is okay!!!  I don't think I could handle dealing with issues like some of the other moms do!!  Heck I cry when my babies have to get shots, let alone when other things are going on with them!!!!  Sick kids is just not for me!!  NO more being sick Kynna girl!!!

Grammy and Papa come to visit...

My parents had planned to come up for Kynna's party, however my Dad was not feeling well so they came a few days later and spent a week with us.  It was nice to visit with them and let the girls get to know their grandparents better.  Ever since Jaylee was just little, she has called Grammy, Bye-bye, until now.  This trip she decided that Grammy was now Gram or Gram-Gram!!  She loves to come up with her own names for people!!  I have tried so many times to get her to call my dad, Grandpa but she insist that his name is Papa, or the Papa with the Grammy when she's trying to keep the 2 separate!!.  She calls Grammy and Papa all the time just to chat, and she really enjoys spending time with them.  Grammy LOVES to read and she loves to read to Jaylee while she is visiting.  It's a nice break for me since I'm always the one that is brought the books to read to her. 

Saying good-bye!!  Such a sad day for me!!  I could have spent another week with them and been totally happy!!!!  Kynna was fine to say bye, however Jaylee was not.  She wouldn't come outside but finally did when I told her they were just going to leave and she wouldn't be able to say bye.  

According to Jaylee-she wanted Gram and Papa to stay forever!!  She kind of likes them!!!

It was nice to visit with my parents as always!!  We do wish it had been longer but we look forward to Christmas now!!!

Kynna's 1st Birthday Party...

On Saturday the 6th, we had Kynna's Birthday Party.  We decided to have it at the park, since it had so much more room and things to do for the kids.  I found some little first birthday cupcake supplies and that was the theme we went with.  We mostly had family there, but also had a few close friends.  Kynna was more interested in walking and exploring then she was in the fact that everyone was there for her!!  She's just not use to having all the attention since her sister likes the attention so much!!!  Speaking of Jaylee, she pretty much stayed away the entire evening off playing and doing her own thing.  Not sure what that was about but whatever!!

 Aunt Brittney was here from Oregon, so that was fun to see her and the kids and spend some time with her!!!

 Aunt Marlee and Uncle JBJ got the major prize and award for having the most answers right on the little questioner we had about Kynna!!  

 She had to have a little encouragement and help getting into the cupcake thing.  She had never had one, I don't even think a bite, so it was something totally new for her.

 But once she did, she enjoyed it!!  I tried a new recipe for her cupcakes and they were pretty good, if I don't say so myself!!!

 Aunt Courtney came up from Salt Lake to be with the birthday girl!!  Aunt Megan and Uncle Tommy and their kids were all there as well.  

 My dear friend Kathy was here from Oregon so she and her kids were celebrating with us!!!  

 Uncle JBJ manned the grill!!  Thanks Jb's!!

 Poppa and Nanny were there as well!!  Kynna loves to snuggle with Poppa, however since she started walking, he doesn't get as much snuggle time as he use to!!!

 Daddy helped Kynna open gifts!!  She got some fun stuff and cute clothes!!  Thank you everyone that helped to spoil our little cupcake!!!

MaKynna's 1st Birthday

I can't believe how fast this last year has gone by!!  On Tuesday, August 2nd, we celebrated our baby girls first birthday!!  We went to Park City for the day with my sister and her family that were her visiting, and then went to dinner at our family's favorite pizza place, The Brick Oven!!  We put her in the 1st birthday crown, but as you can see from the picture below, she pulled it off pretty quick as she does with most flowers and bows!!!  

 Somehow in all the day's excitement we managed to forget her shoes, so we ended finding her a pair of really cute ones at the outlets, so at least she could walk around when she wanted to!!!  She has been walking since about the first of July but it was on June 20th that she took her first steps!!  She loves to walk and now run!!!

 She and Jaylee took a ride on the carousal but Kynna doesn't love the rides like Jaylee did at this age!!!  She did loosen up a little but not much even with Daddy holding her the entire time!!!

 She is so tired in this next picture!!  And MaKynna will only sleep in her crib and sometimes in the car seat if the car is moving, and even then it's like 15 min. max.  It is such a pain especially on Sunday's at church when she is ready for a nap by the time we get there and doesn't ever fall asleep!!!

 She LOVES to put her fingers in people's mouths, as shown in the picture below!!  But more then that, she LOVES her Daddy!!  When she hears the door open at home, she'll start chanting DADA DADA and kicking her legs.  Then she'll walk up to him and give him kisses without evening being asked!!  Another Daddy's girl on my hands!!!

 She loves books as well!!  Especially ones that she knows she's not suppose to have or touch.  She is constantly pulling the books out of the bookshelf and if I don't get to them immediately she will start ripping them!!  

 She has to chunkiest cheeks and thighs but she is super small for her age.  Her 1 year stats are...

Weight- 18 lbs 7 oz. right at the 10th%

Height- 28 1/2 inches, right at the 49th%

Head-17.8 inches

 She LOVES to eat!!  She is a really good eater, but she's a little impatient as well!!  When she is ready to eat, she will start screeching until you give her something to eat!!  She doesn't have the vocabulary like Jaylee did at this age and I think the sign language made that big difference.  She does say DADA, Mama, aylee(for Jaylee I think), Up, Hi and she'll sign milk, and more(on a good day).  When you try to get her to say new words, she'll either screech or she'll just give you her dazzling smile and laugh at you!!  She will wave bye-bye and shake her head yes and sometimes no.  

 And she loves ice cream and frozen yogurt!!  This was the first time that we let her do her own thing with either one, and I do believe that she really enjoyed it!!!

 Happy 1st Birthday Kynna!!  We love you so much and are so glad that you came to our family!!!

A Summer for packages...

With Jaylee graduating from Preschool, she received a package from her Grammy and Papa in Arizona as a congrats gift.  She LOVED the little outfit that she got.  She also had managed to talk her Uncle Eric into buying her a pony while we were in Arizona and when he didn't get it before we left, she would tell me how he's not so great anymore and such, so he sent her one in the mail and suddenly he was on her good list!!!  She LOVES getting the mail and finding something with her name on it!!  And Kynna just LOVES everything that Jaylee does!!!
