Dr. Drama

Do you ever get those Doctors that are just a little to quick to treat you before they have all the facts? Well that is what happened with my dear husband the other day!! So it's been a rough Winter to say the least, and Brady came down with something a few weeks ago after all of us were finally getting better. My husband never gets sick hardly but it just seemed to get worse and worse. So he goes to the Doctor but had to see a different doctor then usual since his family doctor wasn't in. So he sees Dr. Drama(obviously I'm not giving out his real name and this is my new name for him), no big deal the first visit. Gave him a prescription for a Z-pack and he was done. Well Brady didn't get any better and called the doctor who gave him another Z-pack. When Brady continued to get worse, and could hardly walk and couldn't hold things without dropping them, he decided he needed to go back in. So Thursday he goes in, now keep in mind that the girls and I were set to be flying out to Arizona that same afternoon, and the Doctor decides he needs to do an X-ray and some blood work. So the dear Doctor decides that he does have pneumonia but then proceeds to tell my husband that his right kidney was about to shut down and that he needed to get to the hospital immediately and probably start dialysis. Well Brady called me on the verge of crying and of course I started crying. You never want to hear that someone you love is seriously sick!! I quickly made a couple of phone calls for my girls to be watched by a friend and my sister-in-law as well as called my mom to let her know what was going on, and she called to cancel my flight. So Brady comes home and gets me and we go back to the doctor's office together. Dr. Drama comes in tells us that the blood work was back and that all of his levels are great except his white blood cells, which are high. So he rules out Kidney failure but then decides that it must be some kind of growth on his kidney and that he still needs to go to the hospital and have it removed. I proceeded to ask if there was another test that could be done to see if it was really necessary and he suggest a CT. So we go and get that done and then go back to the doctors office we go. Well while we were gone for maybe an hour, he decided that he needed the lab to take a look at his blood work again because he is now concerned with some kind of blood marrow issue like cancer or something like that. I seriously wanted to punch him at this point. Well the CT when looking at it, just looked like the junk on the right side was all in the lung area from the pneumonia and his kidneys looked great. So Brady says to him, "so we're out of the woods with it being anything to do with my kidney" and Dr. Drama proceeds to inform him that he's not the radiologist and that we are still very much in the woods. They gave Brady a shot in the bum and told us to come back on Friday for the results from the CT. So we go in and the radiologist said it is just all the junk from a very bad case of pneumonia!! And still Dr. Drama proceeded to tell Brady that if his kidney's started hurting at all that he needed to get in immediately. And gave him another thorough check as well as another shot in the bum!!! But no hospital and a good idea that we will NOT be going back to see him again!!! He thinks that Brady had some kind of reaction to the Z-pack and since the shot he's not in pain and can use his legs and arm again with no problem!! And as for the girls and I's vacation, we're still going just a little later then we thought!!!

Uncle Jason Comes to Visit

Uncle Jason came up from Arizona for a few days for a Tech Conference and was able to stay with us!! Well Jaylee was in HEAVEN to have a new person to con into playing Mario with her. He was still mostly asleep but he played with her!! Kynna was trying to get up to them as well but never made it!!! After he left, I had to answer the dreaded where is Uncle Jason question about 20 times and then have to hear the Why did he go home? after that!!! We had a good 5 full day visit with him and can't wait to see him along with everyone else in a few days!!! We're glad you stayed with us and we hope you had a good time in Utah!!!

Jaylee's Candyland

Since Jaylee loves the game Candyland, we thought it was only fitting to have a Candyland Birthday Party. I had seen it done for a friends birthday and loved the idea. We were able to find some plates, cups, napkins, etc from on online store and ordered a set of those. And I was able to find a Candyland Dress for Jaylee to wear!! It ended up being a little big and even with it safety-pinned it was still to big!! We had her party at the church since I knew we wouldn't have enough room at our home!! And since you can't have open flame inside the chapel, we waited until we got home for her to blow out her candles!!! The Cake wasn't done completely so don't look to close, it has many flaws!!!
Her party was on Saturday the 26th, and she had a BLAST!! She still talks about her birthday party and how she had so much fun!!! Oh and Thank you Melissa for taking pictures for me during the party!!!
The Candyland Birthday Girl!!

We set up a blanket for MaKynna to play on

Gideon with a Candyland ball

Would have been even cuter if Jaylee had her eyes open!!! Nanny and Poppa came and hung out!!

The Invitation

So we started out at Chocolate Swamp where we had Chocolate Fondue with lots of yummy things to dip in it!!
Next we went over to Peanut Acres where they had to find as many of the kisses out of the box of peanuts.

At Peppermint Forest we played a little game of ring the candy canes using hoola-hoops!!

At the Ice Palace we made our own Snowflakes!!! It use to be called Snow Flake Lakes and has since been changed in the newest edition of Candyland!!

At Lollypop Woods they were looking for the lollipop that had a black mark on the bottom so they could win a big Lollipop

Ice Cream Slopes was next where we served up some White Ice Cream on a cone (Jaylee's favorite)

At Licorice Lagoon we played a little guess how many pieces of licorice are in the jar.

At Cupcake Commons the kids frosted and decorated their own Cupcakes

Gum Drop Mountains was entertaining!! They had to see how many gum drops they could get on a toothpick, the winner Miss Tenley with the help of her Daddy got like 30+ on her toothpick!!!

GingerBread House was were we left the gifts and where Jaylee was finally allowed to open them!! She had a little help from a couple of the kids and it was so fun to see them all be so excited for her!!! She got a few My Little Pony things, a game, some clothes, a bed for her dolls, some movies, a new wii game, a gardener set,a personalized pillow and a golf set(from Daddy of course)

And finally they all made it to the Candy Castle where they were able to fill a bag of goodies to take home with them!!!

Clean up was so fast thanks to my Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law for starting while we finished up the last few stations!! And to Courtney for helping me set-up!! A few things I would do differently next time, but we had such a blast!! It was so fun to hear Jaylee afterward go on and on about how much she liked her party and how she wanted to go back to her Candyland Party!! We only had about 17 kids show up, a few less then what we thought would be there, but it was a little crazy!! Brady has given me the hex on big parties from here on out!!! He informed me that we will set a limit on the number of kids invited!!! Oh well it was fun and I would do it again!!!!
