Dr. Drama

Do you ever get those Doctors that are just a little to quick to treat you before they have all the facts? Well that is what happened with my dear husband the other day!! So it's been a rough Winter to say the least, and Brady came down with something a few weeks ago after all of us were finally getting better. My husband never gets sick hardly but it just seemed to get worse and worse. So he goes to the Doctor but had to see a different doctor then usual since his family doctor wasn't in. So he sees Dr. Drama(obviously I'm not giving out his real name and this is my new name for him), no big deal the first visit. Gave him a prescription for a Z-pack and he was done. Well Brady didn't get any better and called the doctor who gave him another Z-pack. When Brady continued to get worse, and could hardly walk and couldn't hold things without dropping them, he decided he needed to go back in. So Thursday he goes in, now keep in mind that the girls and I were set to be flying out to Arizona that same afternoon, and the Doctor decides he needs to do an X-ray and some blood work. So the dear Doctor decides that he does have pneumonia but then proceeds to tell my husband that his right kidney was about to shut down and that he needed to get to the hospital immediately and probably start dialysis. Well Brady called me on the verge of crying and of course I started crying. You never want to hear that someone you love is seriously sick!! I quickly made a couple of phone calls for my girls to be watched by a friend and my sister-in-law as well as called my mom to let her know what was going on, and she called to cancel my flight. So Brady comes home and gets me and we go back to the doctor's office together. Dr. Drama comes in tells us that the blood work was back and that all of his levels are great except his white blood cells, which are high. So he rules out Kidney failure but then decides that it must be some kind of growth on his kidney and that he still needs to go to the hospital and have it removed. I proceeded to ask if there was another test that could be done to see if it was really necessary and he suggest a CT. So we go and get that done and then go back to the doctors office we go. Well while we were gone for maybe an hour, he decided that he needed the lab to take a look at his blood work again because he is now concerned with some kind of blood marrow issue like cancer or something like that. I seriously wanted to punch him at this point. Well the CT when looking at it, just looked like the junk on the right side was all in the lung area from the pneumonia and his kidneys looked great. So Brady says to him, "so we're out of the woods with it being anything to do with my kidney" and Dr. Drama proceeds to inform him that he's not the radiologist and that we are still very much in the woods. They gave Brady a shot in the bum and told us to come back on Friday for the results from the CT. So we go in and the radiologist said it is just all the junk from a very bad case of pneumonia!! And still Dr. Drama proceeded to tell Brady that if his kidney's started hurting at all that he needed to get in immediately. And gave him another thorough check as well as another shot in the bum!!! But no hospital and a good idea that we will NOT be going back to see him again!!! He thinks that Brady had some kind of reaction to the Z-pack and since the shot he's not in pain and can use his legs and arm again with no problem!! And as for the girls and I's vacation, we're still going just a little later then we thought!!!

Oh my goodness!! Where did this doctor get his degree at??? Sounds like he needs to go back to medical school. Geez. I'm glad everything worked out though.
