Bank of America-What a mess...
You know, I knew when we started that buying a home would be a little stressful, however I was no where close to what it really has been!! Back in February, we put on offer on a little home at 451 W. 2300 S. in Clearfield Utah that had only been on the market for a day!! It needs a little face-lift, but other then that we are super excited for this new adventure in being homeowners. The original listing mentioned that is was not a short sale!! We planned to close the end of March and started making plans for what we were going to do first. We had our inspection done on it and felt really good about the killer deal that we are getting. And after that, everything seemed to go down hill fast!! And before we knew it, we were having to extend our closing date for a week. No big deal, until after we had changed utilities to our name, locked in our interest rate, and were given what we thought was the green light to be closing on Monday the 2nd of April. Well Saturday afternoon, after all of this was done, the Sellers Agent contacted our agent to inform her that we had a problem. Well come to find out, he hadn't been in constant contact with his person at Bank of America since we first went into contract. And come to find out, Bank of America had transferred this house account to a different department. And of course, the new contact doesn't ever return phone calls. So for over a month, he tried to get a hold of this guy named Jorge that works in their Florida office. Jorge did contact the sellers agent at the end of April and mentioned that we should be able to close in a couple of days. Well until he found out that we were doing an FHA loan and then he said it would take at least 2-3 weeks before we could close. No one can figure out why our loan would make any kind of difference for when we closed, we've been ready to go since the middle of March. So the 3 weeks came and went. In the meantime, in our desperation to get this house closed, we started talking to anyone we could think of for legal help/advice. My in-laws happened to know someone who is pretty high up on the association of Realtors in this area, so we got in contact with him to see if maybe he could get people to call him back. So between the 3 people, calling upwards of 4 times a day each to 3 different people at Bank of America, we were not getting anywhere!! We could not get Bank of America to respond in anyway, so we heard of someone trying to use Social Media to get some kind of response, so we decided to try it and low and behold in less then 24 hours, we had a lady from Bank of America's social media control calling us and finding out what was going on!! This was on the 16th of May. Within a few days, she managed to get Jorge to contact the sellers agent and that is when Jorge asked us if Friday the 25th would be okay to close. We were so excited only to learn in their closing instructions that they sent to Title, it said that they have 3-5 business days to be ready to sign. So here we sit on the 6th business day, since they have received the final HUDS and again we can't get anyone to respond!! Craig(the sellers agent), has tried calling everyone he has numbers for and yet no one ever seems to return phone calls, even though all of their messages say that they will within 48 hours. Buying a home, especially your first home, should NEVER been this stressful!! We have paid an additional $700 to extend our locked interest rate, just so we don't loose out on this home. This is the home that we want to buy, where we want to be, and Jaylee has already re-named the park by our home as "Jaylee's park". We had to move in with my in-laws since our apartment had been rented when we thought we were closing at the beginning of May. Tomorrow our ADD #4 expires again, which means we have to fill out a new one to again extend our closing date!! Bank of America just needs to close on case #521-651549!!

Sorry it's been so hard! We just bought a short sale and it's not easy, nor is it a short process! Don't know why they're called SHORT sales!!! Hopefully this will end for you soon.
Inspiring.
